Signing in as a teacher

Use the button at the top right of the app. School Words accepts a Google account or a Microsoft account — use whichever your school issued you.

Your account is not created by School Words and no password is ever typed into it. Google or Microsoft confirms who you are, and School Words is told your name and email address and nothing else.

Why your address has to be registered

School Words is not open to the public. An address can use it only if an administrator has registered either that address, or the whole domain it belongs to — so registering stmarys.sch.uk admits every member of staff and every pupil at once.

If you see "Your email address is not registered", nothing is broken: somebody needs to add you. Whoever set School Words up for your school can do it in a few seconds.

Signing out, and shared computers

The account button at the top right shows who is signed in and offers Sign out. On a shared staffroom or classroom machine, sign out when you finish — the next person to open School Words would otherwise be you.

Signing out does not delete anything. Activities you saved to a file or to your cloud storage stay exactly where they are.

Important

Signing in to School Words does NOT give it access to your email, your files or your calendar. Cloud saving asks separately, and only for a folder it creates itself — see Saving your activity.
